Moving leaves in mass!

Site of the new dining hall!

Baseball field being expanded.

Harmon Pond looking north towards the beaver dam.

Parade field and main lodge.

Waterfront (it will look different in 2010!)

Cabin row (4 of the 11 cabins).

Casino Night in the main lodge at the summer reunion.

View of the lodge and Harmon Pond from cabin row.

A little log rolling as some of the leaves begin to turn color in the background.

The council ring is still lush and green though.

Beaver lodges on the eastern shore of Harmon Pond.

Cabin row nestled in the 500 acres.

And the cabins from the front.

Summer reunion chapel Sunday morning.

View from the lodge steps, in the heart of the reunion action.

Happy boaters (and frog finders I think).

Another view of Harmon Pond.

Games on the parade field (and Ted's unique hula-hoop style).

We love Segowea!

Ping pong in the lodge.

View of Harmon Pond towards the south.

Getting on the log can be a workout.

Staying on the log is also a fun challenge.

Lodge porch, the perfect spot to relax and soak up the view.

And what better way to end than a little power washing with Minna and Katie?

We hope to see you at Segowea soon! Call us at 518 656-9462 ext 6632.

Reunion a Huge Success!

What an amazing weekend! We had over 175 attendees, more than 80 stayed Saturday night. The entire Smith Park board was in attendance, as were 25 members of Friends of Segowea, as well as three former directors, Beth Hodos, Bruce Barmak, and John Fisher.
Thank you to all who volunteered your time writing and calling to personally invite others to attend. Thank you to all those who came early on Friday to help make camp looks its best for the weekend. Thank you to those who cleaned the kitchen before and after, cooked and kept us well fed, a special thank you to Lily Mercogliano and Mike Bruns for coordinating most of this. Thank you to Liz Carivan for covering the sign-in table. Thank you to all who set up and ran the amazing Casino Night. Thank you for the detailed Wa Wa Bucks and yummy cookies they bought. Thank you to whoever DJ'ed and put on the Cha-Cha Slide. Thank you to all who participated in Chapel and especially to Beth for your comments about it now being "us". Thank you for all of the other work and effort you put forward which I haven't specifically listed. I have heard from alumni who said it was perfect and couldn't have gone any better. It was certainly a group effort to pull it off as well as we did, so one final thank you to all for your part.

We'd love to see you all again soon and still have plenty to accomplish at camp so please let me know if you'd like to join us for any of the upcoming work weekends. Aug 22-23, Sept 5-6, Sept 19-20, Oct. 3-4 and Oct 10-11. RSVP to Toby Hettler at 518 656-9462 ext 6632 or thettler@cdymca.org

Below are some photos for you to enjoy if you were unable to attend or want to enjoy the nostaglia of last week : ) All my best, Toby
