Meet the new YMCA Camp Wa Wa Segowea Camp Director, Josh Scott!

Camp is almost here!  In less than 2 weeks, kids will once again be enjoying a unique camping experience like no other at Camp Wa Wa Segowea!  For 100 years, children have learned new skills, and spent a good amount of time learning to understand and appreciate the other person, all while having a lot of fun.

As an alum recently said to me, "There's something about this camp that's different from a random summer job in a supermarket.  You develop friendships and connections here, and a loyalty, being together in this camp program.  That's pretty unique.  It's very clear to me (as an old-timer) that these folks today are exactly like the people I worked and played with when I was at camp.  It's just the enjoyment of having shared that experience of being at camp, whether as a worker or as a camper."

This uniqueness tradition continues at camp this summer.  There's returning staff and new staff, returning campers and new campers, returning traditions and new ones as well.   The director of Camp Wa Wa Segowea is new as well, but not new to camping (and YMCA Camping).

Josh Scott has been very busy and will continue to be right up till kids arrive (and afterwards too!)  He was nice enough to take some time and sit down and answer a few questions. (Video is at the bottom of this post) If you have other questions for Josh, please send him an email jscott@nwcty.org or give him a call- 413-229-9110.
