The Spring season at YMCA Camp Wa Wa Segowea!

We're full into the Spring season at YMCA Camp Wa Wa Segowea with work weekends, Open Houses and getting ready for June 24th, the first day of Summer Camp!

Thanks to the people who participated last weekend in the work.  It was leaves, leaves and more leaves!  It took raking them, gathering them and using Norm's Leaf vacuum to get rid of quite a bit of them.  Also on the agenda, construction of the new front gate, some general cleaning and moving some stuff around and getting ready for the first Open House on Sunday.  It was a very small turnout of people, so we could really use your help the next time around.

If you plan on attending an Open House, you need to RSVP, so please contact Camp Director Kat Fitzpatrick at 518-656-9462 Ext 6632 or  kfitzpatrick@cdymca.org

Here's the schedule at camp:

Sunday May 6th- Open House

Sunday May 20th- Open House

May 26-27th- Work Weekend

Sunday June 3rd- Open House

Sunday June 10th- Open House

June 16-17th-  Work Weekend

Sunday June 17th- Open House

If by chance you would like to help get camp ready to open, but can't make a work weekend, please give Camp Property Director, Norm Button a call and make arrangements.  He's pretty flexible, especially if you can help during the week!

You'll notice something is happening every weekend at camp right up to when camp opens, except for May 12th, and that's because that day is all about the Wa Wa Wally Waddle!  It's the 3rd Annual Wa Wa Wally Waddle, a 5k Run/Walk held at Vassar Farms in Poughkeepsie.  Please see last month's post-
